On 28th October, 1938, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose delivered a lecturer in a public meeting held at Dhubri Kalibari and the great leader was felicitated by the secretary of Kalibari, Chintaharan Paul.
In 1939 some prominent young personalities such as Digbijoy Chakraborty, Nani Shil, Keshab Chandra Roy, Abani Mohan Roy, Subhash Chandra Paul, Gopal Chandra Dutta, Tyajendra Chandra Dey, Gopal Chandra Dey (Nani babu), Purna Chandra Dey, Chitta Ranjan Paul, Gopal Chandra Banik, Sachindra Mohan Dey came forward for the development of Kalibari and had started the work for Durga Mandir and completed the decorated wooden Mandap in 1941 and since then the Durga Puja continued in Nat Mandap till 2012.
In 1953, the old Shiva and Kali Mandir had been demolished and built the RCC Mandir financed by Nath Mal Tolaram Farm and Gosaidas Paul Farm. The renowned sculpture Mr. Mani Paul of Kolkata made the image of the Goddess Kali made of Black Granite and the Shivalinga made of White Marble were brought by Binoy Krishna Paul in aeroplane to Dhubri (Rupshi).
In the tithi of 'Trayadashi' in 1956 the Mandir was inaugurated and started the Puja, continuted for 56 years.
In 1962, the birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda with religious congregation was observed for two days along with a rally procession taking the statue of Swamiji with the active participation of Swami Somananda and Pranabananda Maharaj, the two monks from Belur Math. The two monks and Chintaharan Paul delivered their valuable speech in this religious congregation.
In 1963 Chintaharan Paul passed away and Subhas Ch. Paul took over the charge of Secretary of Kalibari and continued for nearly 25 years followed by Biswanath Banerjee
The entire affairs of the Kalibari was managed by a committee elected annually holding a public meeting. The process was going on till the formation of the Trustee Board with Gopal Chandra Dey as President, Sri Nikhil Chandra Roy as Secretary along with 19 other members on 11.09.1994.
The history Kalibari Dhubri would remain incomplete without a special mention of Shri Nikhil Chandra Roy, secretary of 1st Trustee Board of Kalibari , Dhubri. He started his career as a Teacher in Sishu Pathsala Higher Secondary School, Dhubri. Later on, he started his own business and devoted his whole time and effort for the development of Kalibari Dhubri. The present esteem of Kalibari, Dhubri would have not been possible without his active participation.
Another special mention is needed for Shri Gopal Dutta. His efforts and enthusiasm led to the construction of the Front Building in place of the wooden structure with earthen-tiles (Tali) roof.
On 19th April 2012, the old temple was demolished and Sri Chandan Kumar Sarkar, The MLA from South Abhayapuri constituency had laid the foundation stone of the newly constructed temple. Within two years the Durga Mandir, Kali Mandir, Shiva Mandir, Lakshmi Mandir were completed. The rituals and the pujas of the idols of the Mandirs have started on 14th March 2014 on the tithi of 'Sukla Trayodashi' and is continuing.
The complex now took a new look. At present some portion of the complex has bee given on rent to meet the daily expenses. A Marriage Hall has been constructed with all amenities for solemnising marriages and other activities. A guest house has also been constructed 30 rooms including 3 AC rooms for comfortable stay of the visitors at a nominal rate.
